PowerShellASP allows you to use Microsoft Windows PowerShell to build dynamic HTML webpages and websites in a style that is similar to how Microsoft developers used to build web content with VBScript and ASP.

Q: Why would I want to use this, I already know ASP.NET?

For starters, PowerShell is cool!

For the same reason that ports of Python and PHP exist for .NET web development - at times it is easier to write and maintain scripts than it is to build a full 'application'. PowerShell is a powerful easy to use scripting language and provides all the capabilities of the .NET Framework.

And there is no reason to use one or the other, use both. Webpages written with PowerShellASP can be used right alongside your other ASP.NET pages.

Q: I can only build web pages with PowerShellASP?

While PowerShellASP currently targets web pages, it is just as easy to use the PowerShellASP framework to build any kind of templated data. Build dynamic templates of any kind: text files, XML documents, etc... and then pass them to the PowerShellASP engine for evaluation.
